A birthday celebration in advance

Noting able to demoralize my plan tis evening, cause I am full of power now (I slacked a lot the day before!), the tardy post for the friend's bday feast has finally accomplished. There still are astronomical numbers of photos and posts waiting for their grand appearance ^^

We worked at the same company 8 years ago.
Since then, we were pleased to start the friendship with any sort of activities.
One of the gang member has preceded us and now her little chap is entitled to be one of us as well! ;)
We were running out of notion where to dine tat day. Fen came out with her luminous idea, and so we went hit Duck King Restaurant. The hearsay says that Hong Kong chefs are located here, and they are the conquerors of all the delectable food there. Ah well, we were spoilt to the maximum!

They call this their signature dish : Peking Duck skin.
It is sliced into thin slices and wrapped with bombay onion and special sauce.

We requested the chef to whip out a good black pepper duck meat. Inauspiciously they didnt serve it with buns.

Bean curd topped with gooey sauce. Was a bit too plain to my liking, but the rest of them commented that this was good.
The fried chicken's meat with spring onion and dried red chilies. Way too salty.

They have stir-fried a super fresh vegs.

Deep fried prawn mayoneise -- nice!

I super heart this Liu Sha Bao!! Can feel the sensation on the very first bite! I had two at once while in HK!!! hahahaa..

Duck King serve a fair egg tart as well.

With the investment they've made since the resto is opened here in Medan, they have done very good!

My travelogue

Hi hi..!! I'm back to my society!
There are some series of great pictures I have taken since 2 weeks back.
Please bear with my tight and limited space to upload more pics here and to pen down the detailed itinerary I've been through.

Before I have the enough time to micromanage my earlier posts, I am firstly here to publish the condensed story of my itinerary.

- Met the great buddies on 2nd April and we had an opulent lunch tat day.
- Had a mini gathering with another dearest buddy. Another scrumptious lunch was had at Onma Tabo Resto.

- A water rafting experience approximately a day before my departure. Will explore more on this later.

- Meeting the sweet cousin in HK! A lovely baby Lok Lok as well :)

- My virgin time to have this picture in front of the KLCC Twin Towers. Sleek!

Safe and sound

After 5 days of wandering, I'm now save and sound at KL. Just checked in the hotel, and going to sleep soon. Good nite people! Will come back with tonnes of photos and new experiences :)

Leaving

I'm leaving for KL and HK tomorrow morning and will be back to Medan in a week time.
Just finished d0ing the pack up, shud rush to airport at 6.30am tomorrow for the 8am flight, then off to SZ at wee hour the next morning.
Oh gosh! I swear I must be snoring all the way to KL tomorrow.
I am worn out.. Urrghhh..!!

Lovely date with lovely pals

I was awaken by the beep of my cell phone tis morning.
I know tat the lovely friend is in town, so my time will be fully sabotaged by good food, good laugh and an enlightening chat with the friend.
I promised her to let her have an acquaintance with Onma Tabo Restaurant. A bataknese restaurant who serves pork. I visit this restaurant repeatedly, mostly in weekday. One of my boss is a loyal groupie of this resto, and needless to say.. I am, as well! hehehe..
(Ta, do u have special craving for the signature dishes there? Will you jot this down on a bit of paper and stash it under yor tops? hahaha..)

I simply worship it's roasted pork ribs. The pungent condiments brought out the savour of the foods. Love love love..
We placed the order for this pan fried pork meat for more than twice!
The friend commented that the description of the food there are mouthwatering.

We chose to be seated at the hut. Several meters away from the place I usually patronize. Nice weather, cloudy but not raining. The rest of the pics will be up soon in FB :)

The plan is altered!

It's been a year since my uncle and the family's last visiting for Qing Ming.
This year, we embarked at 6.30am on Sunday as my both eyes were pried open at 6am.

Was attending the Dhamma Talk Bhikkhu Uttamo at the night before and this was my first time encountering the Bhikkhu. He is eloquent in his speech and manage to create the invigorating and addictive talk session. I was very motivated by his preach.
Gosh! I have been distracted too much.

Many ponderings have been put to rest. I am applying for the China visa now. The passport will be in my hand in a week time :)

The trip is called off

Still vivid in my remembrance when I purchased the Air Asia ticket on May 2009 (almost a year back), after 2 days of pursuing.
Time did not creep, it flew!
Onli a stone throw distance away from the departure date, seems like I might have to forgo the trip. I can tell that I am disappointed, thoroughly. Some significant changes has led us all the way to the trip cancellation. The friend failed to plead her boss to grant her 6 days leave while my office is in disorder as well.
I have been tussling with so much works this lately, every souls understand that I need a halt badly.
I think I need to reassure the family and the friends that I dont need any pretext to travel all by myself. I shud consider that this trip is not a short-haul flight. I have so many references on how to take the MRT from Shenzhen airport to Hong Kong. Still, only a trivial number of the friends encouraged me to travel alone :(

Office in turmoil

She was sacked last Wednesday. What a mammoth news!
Mind you, she is not forsaking the company.
I don't even understand what has been transpired since a year ago. The problem was brought up when she made a crucial mistake, a purely human error/oversight.

Anyhow, she is still my senior.

Money

Went to the girl friend's house yesterday and 'wooed' her dog called Money.
Dun know wat is Money's breed, she was adopted by the friend's family since 4 months of age. Now she is 14. A dog's age is equal to 7 human years.
Hence, Money is now 98 years old!
If u can see the picture clearer, u may see that there is a bulge protruding from her left leg. The doctor claims it as tumor, no predicament was identified according to the vet.

It's fun playing with her. She is an obedient pet, obey her master's command without any hesitation. She detest when the master said "come take shower!" She will scram away and crouch under the table, wont come out. LOL
Ermm... I'm pondering whether I need my newspaper delivered to my hands? Or do I need the pet to bring me my sandals?

Celebrating a newbie's birthday

She is a novice in our gang.
She is lovely, she is wild, she is unsophisticated and she is pretty. We like her!
4 days after her birthday, she summoned (read : we forced her) us for dinner. Hahaa..
We had a merry dinner with much laughing and silliness. Traded stories and experiences, nicely intertwined.

She is one of CS (couch surfing) member. On tat very evening, she brought along one of the CS's member to join the dinner, a svelte slim figure lady. I envy! Arrgghh..

A vegetarian eatery, has served us dozens of mouth watering dishes, met taste bud of many people. The 2 new comers raved about the taste all evening and wanted more.
They call it tempura for this 1st dish.

Kampoeng fried rice, pungent and fragrant. Ordered twice.

Satay in teriyaki sauce. Favourite!

The birthday girl has uttered many times before, she wanted to prance around the dance floor.

The evening was finalized with a dancing part in Retrospective.

My name is Khan

Rushing to the cinema after work at 5.20pm. Requested the chauffeur to veer the car in maximum speed. Not plenty time left, I was late for the show.
"My name is Khan" A very touching story line, I wailed...

New look

Finally...

After struggling really hard to have a new look on my blog, I supposed to love the new template now *contented*

A date on saturday evening

Bakerzin is here in Medan since 2 months ago.
Since this is one of the new favourite nook for the city's dwellers, me and the buddies were intrigued to pay a visit there on last Saturday. I'm curious to discover if any of their dishes will become favourites. I have my eyes on their signature dishes..

I was regaled with the first order.
The chicken wings did a perfect match with garlic. Do take note tat this is my sole shot of food during the dinner.
So not me wat?? sigh..
I was in tantrum mode after taking this shot. The waiter gave me a mild reprimand tat the resto has the policy of prohibiting taking photos of the food. Ah well, I apologized for that.
Since the incident, the manager and the other two waiters were keeping their eyes on me.
Sh*t....!!! They shud have read my body languange tat their food is just not fancy at all! Me and the friends were wittingly played with my camera. I was waiting for them to come and tell me off that they also restrict people from taking pictures of HUMAN. Oh how nice if he really approach me and said so.
25K for a glass of ice lemon tea is totally a day time robbery!

Poor babe who celebrates birthday only once in 4 years

Happened upon another cupcakes maker 2 days before the friend's birthday. Talked with a friend who claims herself as the said cupcakes groupie and she recommended me the mud cake and gave me the link where I can order the cupcakes.
I placed the order 1 and a half day before the desired date. The cupcakes maker inclined to repel my order at the first time I called her. She told me tat she has no enough time to bake and mold the dolphins (I requested so, because the bday girl likes dolphin to the extent). Asked me to call again the next day. I did so.

Finally.... On tat bright Sunday noon time...
She is a Feb's babe. Came to the world at 29th of February.
Though so, we always and never forget to celebrate the festive on the 28th Feb each year.
