Was in the CNY atmosphere

Have been super tardy in updating the blog. So this column is more occupied with pictures than the series of words.

CNY day 1 :

The first day of CNY started off with having meal together, the reunion dinner food were on the menu for the day 1. I was in cheongsam which I quite like. As you can see on the pics below, me, dad and sis collided on the same color tone.

We have the custom of taking pictures before leaving for the temple each year. Same corner and the same happy emotions. We went down to the temple and offered the incense for ancestors ( I didnt manage to take pictures there).

Pictures below were taken at the so-called biggest temple in town. Wrote down the wishes and pasted them on the lotus candle by then put it on the altar.
The temple was packed with many ppl in which I was told to not put off my shoes when entering the doorstep. Many locals came to visit the temple, they looked happy in taking pictures or just marveled at the giant statues of the deities. Can say that more than three-fourths of the chinese population in Medan city visited this temple on the first day of CNY. Facebook uploaded pictures and bbm display pic justify the fact.
CNY day 2 :
I took another day off on the day 2. I didnt want to involve the work in my mind when other ppl were still hovering over the festive.
Ah ma have to produce the sound "chesseee~~~" to produce smiley faces.
How cooperative she was! :)Went for an open house at my friend's aunt place on the CNY day 2. The food spread was really good. There's no sin taking those food as CNY is equal to feasting on great food and snacks! lol.
Visited the twins were on the list as well. A cheerful baby boy! Too bad his twin sister was sleeping when we were there.
CNY day 2 was over. And I got to work on the day 3.

The year end rush

I have to treat the strands of hair abit more special when the year end come, to get the hair straightened and dyed is the annual mandatory for me.
Visited the salon thrice before the last process was executed. As of now, I'm quite pleased with the outcome :)

Right after the hair treatment, I attended a friend's wedding dinner in Ria Resto last Sunday. I was there with my newly dolled up hair.
I need to jot down that I'm now facing a serious weight issue. Tried to conceal the fat with the gloomy color, but it didn't help at all. Those friends and acquaintances whom I don't meet for several months claimed that I looked chubbier these days, I don't fancy this kind of "flattery"! humpphh!!
Talking about the changing of the year, there are some significant achievements in 2011.
One of those is I practised driving again after more than 5 yrs since the very first time I took the driving course and I was successfully able to cope with the gas, brake and cluth pedals after then. I started to execute the practise session since last August and thankfully I'm always stay on track after the horrid accident last November. Ppl say that all drivers (no matter male of female driver) assuredly have to go through the mishaps while driving, especially for the new learner.

The other achievement occurred in workplace when the ex manager withdrew herself from the company and I was positioned as the successor of her. Not a feasible task to undertake, many mistakes done and I know I have to do my best for the company. Work pressure is a close friend of mine now.

CNY shopping was done last week. I'm not embracing myself with all new brand stuffs.
I'll still wearing the last year's heels and will still tagging along the old handbag.
Absolutely, getting quite a number of dresses is a new thing for me as I wore pants more than skirts in the past few years.

PS : Tomorrow is the dragon year, I wish I could be more diligent in updating this blog.

CNY day 9

We partook in the tradition of preparing platters of fresh fruit, buns, ang ku kueh, and other dishes as offerings to the God right approximately at 00.00am tat day (大年初九).

Mom always superb at baking since her young age.

Lil sis was mimicking what she saw at grocery store few days ago and she did it daintily! =)

Ang Ku Kueh a.k.a. red tortoise cakes in Hokkien (bought from the godma).
The skin does not stick to the teeth and gives a good chewy feeling. The fillings are smooth and mixed very well with the skin.I like!

I clashed to the site which offers magnanimous numbers of cupcakes for any occasions before CNY, but the organizer repelled me with the pretext that the orders have overwhelmed her.
Well, I placed the order for the 8th day of CNY.
I texted her in the early morning to make sure tat I will be there at her place to pick the cupcakes up at around 6pm.
In the evening... See see see... the tigger!!! Awww... it is too cute...!!!
But too bad, the taste was a disaster!! The cakes are not any better and smoother than those sold at wet market.
The last 2 pcs were sitting nicely and neatly in trash bin on the next 2 days :(

We managed to click a few good shots during the time left.

2nd day of CNY

Whoa.. Please grant me an apology, guys! :)

Have been lingering far behind these days. I seem to be a slave to my work at times, hovering inside the workplace until 7 or 8pm at least twice or thrice a week is not my option. I talked to the colleague that I tremendously need another hand to help me.

Working on Saturday is totally a bliss (at least for now). I need tranquility and space to sort out all the things and deal with the filing and archiving. I dont have any time in between to do all those junk jobs on weekdays! Phones, emails, ym-es and bbms is driving me haywire the whole day!! *sob sob...*

Come back to the track now :)

I recalled I ever blogged about houses times ago (but cannot find the link).

Yes, mom and dad are intending to move to a new loft. But we haven't sign any covenant until now. We are still hunting.

We went to a new estate on CNY day 2. It seems special and unique, but still not the correct domicile needed.

We need a spacious one, not this little puny one! ;)

The day before CNY and the 1st day of CNY

I have back to work since yesterday, I granted myself a 2 days leave.
Well, I have an utterly lazy days. Phew..
Just gulped down a panadol and thanks God after an intermittent nap, I feel okay for another couple of hours now. As wat my dude uttered, Panadol is our bestest friend!

Back to my topic for today, a laggard post.
I left office much earlier than usual on Saturday and lent mom a hand in preparing for the reunion dinner. We were hankering so much to savor ourselves with those sumptuous home cooked cuisines. Super duper yummy!!

After the dinner, I was tasked to wash all the dirty dishes while sis was mopping the floor.

Pardon me for the lack of words on this post. I think I'm having trouble writing things since I came back here on my blog. hahaha..
