A cuisine trip to Penang

Airport was considered congested tat morning, but still manageable. The queue was not too long, it was a weekday and xmas eve is still far apart. Pocketed the boarding pass in another 20 mins after our arrival in airport.
Auspiciously, the lurking time was not long. Ultimately we boarded to the plane at 10.20am.
I was not getting myself upgraded to a particular seat previously. And good point was I was seated on the aisle. I vouch I wont be bothered with toilet breaks during the 45 mins flight. So, it doesnt matter on where I was seated, as long as I was not positioned in the middle.
Reaching Penang International Airport with no tardiness. Collected the luggages, found a cafe to sit the butt down and waiting for Sher to come.
We can say that Sher is the landlord of Penang city. We were accommodated in her lodge, a strategic location towards the neighboring makan places and mall.
Her family patronize the same taxi every time they visit Penang. And so did we, deserved the privileges as well. Being driven from the airport, made a sojourn to a pharmacy by then went back to the apartment. I tagged along pretty much pills from the store. The high blood pressure pills and teeth glue for dad, my everyday consumed Vit E is on the list too. I spent my first Ringgit denomination on pills and medicine. Medicine, vitamin pills and other health supplements are obviously a lot cheaper there than in my town.

After settling the bill in the pharmacy, we rushed for our first good food intake of the day!
Penang Road's Penang Laksa and Penang char kway teow. Not forgetting the ice cendol as well. The kopitiam was super packed at that hour, humans were all squeezing into that small and stuffy kopitiam. It is a very old eatery that has different kinds of food to tantalize the visitors taste buds. But the food is damn good!
After the not-so-hefty meal, we went back to the apartment to rest the body and visited the toilet bowl. In the 5pm plus afternoon, we started to embark on our next makan place.
Gurney Drive! Yayy!
Gurney drive is only a stone's throw away from the apartment. How nice the weather was congenial!
We arrived! The throngs were scattered in different stalls around the wide path. We have listed many die-die-must-eat stuffs there. Here we go to hunt for those food!
Fried Oyster's stall not operating until very late. The second evening we were there, we noticed tat the uncle already cleaned the frying pan and no queue was formed at all. Sad.
I have been whining about Lok Lok since the very first time I purchased the ticket.
My very favorite hawker snack! Yummmzzz..
It's the end of the journey - day 1.

See ya!

Commemorating Xmas Eve in advance

We have been into a marvelous and witty festive last Sunday. As I ever uttered before, I have a bunch of amusing and humorous buddies.
I got the invitation of the said occasion one week before, they have been contemplating about this topic since eons ago. And finally successfully accomplished.
I was so much thrilled with each details of the program. Bringing back the numerous photos we all took during the trip.
*Complete post will be up soon*

Back to the normal me

I won't elaborate much on what has engulfed me approximately a week ago. Very close besties knew all the details immaculately.
Life is never flat. Yeah, I was invaded by an unexpected "spark". Tis aint called spark, as I dun really like tis condition at all!
Thanks goodness for endowing me back my normal-life. Thanks to the loved ones who have been with me through the passing of time, sharing this greatest adventures in my beautiful life. I reckon that I have conquered all those viruses!
I do love my normal life, taking care of all the mundane errands in my life is a bless for me. Come online and have a routine chit chat with the loved ones is a godsend to me as well. Nothing is more important than the tranquility. I sense the stillness around me now.
Lesson to be learnt from the passed days : "Curiosity can kill a cat!"

Pork feast

Albeit after hearing many positive rants about a Batak restaurant since quite a while ago, I barely have the chance to flock with the dudes there the other day, as my premier visit.
The resto was fully congested with patrons. We parked the car quite far from the resto. No choice, there were no vacant space nearby or within the resto's parking lot.

I was not familiar with their menu. But some of their main menus are analogous with those I visit often. Just as I prefer to linger on my default place. Their cooking are average, nothing to yell about. My delusion of having the roasted ribs has defeated all the orders I had tat day. It's not fair if I judge it awful. They are all edible and good, but not special.

Took the opportunity to snap some shots in between the luncheon and chit chat.
PS : Ta, the one on the left is Dr. Djafar Siddik (the first person I saw once I popped into the world)'s daughter. Hahaa..

A hefty lunch, beautiful companions, funny yakking. We laughed a lot tat day.

One day culinary in town

Was interrupted by the serious upset stomach on that very Sunday morning.
I was too languid to raise my torso from the mattress and it was excruciating for me to shift my legs off the bed. I need to rest the body system.
Needless to eloborate more, the friend has poked her nose into my dream! Fine, I was tantalized to join her in the end :)

Happily, I was giving myself a brief shower before starting to experience the Sunday.
As per scheduled, we were going to Grand Aston Hotel for attending an occassion, with no food supplied until the talk ended. The clock ticked to 12.30pm, and I have been starving for the whole morning. Geez...
There was another event the friend asked me to join after the previous one. With the limited time spared in between for us, I (the friend already took her bfast before coming) finally settled my lunch in the hotel.
Perused carefully the menu at the hotel's lobby, I ultimately opted for one avocado mousse cake, a glass of ice lemon tea and one portion of tuna sandwich. It didnt take too long for me to decide on which I shud take. I heart avocado, ice lemon tea is my default drink if I have to dine outside and tuna is always on my makan-list! Haha..
The size of the avocado cake looked bulkier than the one I saw in the display case, I cud say that I found the perfect taste of avocado in the cake! Meanwhile, the ice lemon tea was served in a rather huge tall glass. Refreshing!
The kitchen was abit retarded in serving the tuna sandwich to me. Luckily I have nothing to rant about the taste. The standard is excellent! I love how the kitchen did the tuna for me.
Left the hotel at 4.30pm. And this newly known mee rebus closed my eating itinerary on that day.
Sure I feel contented...

It's HOT!!!

My sis squealed out in shock when she saw my super ruddy left back shoulder.
Whereas I squealed out in pain when sis pulled the koyo off my flesh!!!
Yeah, I was and am still going through quite severe pain on my left back shoulder. I shrugged when grandma offered me the koyo. Ah well, I'm hungering to enjoy my deep slumber tonight with zero disturbance.. I'm not wishing for "being bitten" by the koyo whole night. It would be surely tormenting!

Hang out at a German restaurant in town

It was my initial time dining in a German Restaurant in town.
Felt awesome with the al fresco dining table and the live music was echoing around us.
The friends were gladly offering themselves up on the stage to liven the atmosphere.
I found it dreadfully great before I discovered there were 6 miscalls and 2 text messages on my mobile. Poor me..

Here under are some food photos tat I managed to collect througout the gathering dinner.
Looks like I have misintepret the camera function. Well, blame the dim lighting. At least the photos turned out bright! LOL.. I scrutinized over the menu and cannot find the pork leg which I was recommended to try.
We were lead to place the order for their famous pork sausage for instead. Dont you find it HUGE??

16 November 2010

4 days with no internet line

I was doing fine, been into some different occassions in the past week.
Although I have to work hard to tackle problems which affected my emotions, I still have to earnestly thank the God tat I was perked up at some major points as well. I felt I was like riding a roller coaster :)

I was given a treat at a local restaurant for my dinner today. Wat a bountiful dude!
Decided to hop into the cinema for Robert Pattinson after meal. And I'm still insisting on my previous saying that I'm tend to love Jacob more than Edward. Somehow, I no like the show.

Tomorrow will be my independence day in which I'll be rewarded for my hard work in these 2 days. Sleep to the max! Yaayyy!!
Anyway, happy holiday folks!

Xiao Mei's birthday

Celebrated the lil sis' birthday on 23rd Oct.
Everything was simply arrayed, the cake from sis' friends and mom's signature birthday fried noodle with some untainted quail eggs.
She is still a puny little sis in the family. For years, we delighted in tormenting her. hahaa..
Anyway, happy birhtday Xiao Mei! :)

The one day trip

The trip was originally intended to consist of many witty ideas from the members.
I and some other friends in the gang are the newbies in this community, yet we found glee when joining in their fun before. They are all cute humans.
We chatted on a hidden space in FB since a week before the trip (negating the object), discussing on how to achieve our goals. Hahaha..

The plan was running smoothly until the veil was unveiled. All went flawless!
The tour was meant to be a farewell party for the friend, as she need to attend to the new duties at new work place a week after.
She has been there in the villa since 6pm with the other 4 members, meanwhile the rest of the gang will be on the spot later on as scheduled before.
The game started. the impish friends took turn to make phone calls and texted her, transmitting that they were unable to turn out on the villa due to some crucial issues. (We were already at the halfway tat time)
After some calls and a handful of texts, there were not many people left in the villa.
She finally locked herself up in the room when the troops were invading from nowhere. Apparently none of the members absent! Hahaa.. Tat was too funny when she refused to raise her face from the pillow. Oh well, she cried a river! Wat a dramatic scene..

The morning scene of the villa where we stayed for one night. Breezy cold weather chilled out my mind. I swaddled myself in a long sleeve sweater, no matter when and where. I felt cold all the time.

An Argentine and a Poland girl joined the community too. They are here in Medan for learning bahasa, in a students exchange program. They are cool and nice, fit in any kind of topics. Belen (the Argentine) told me tat she has to miss the Indonesian Got Talent show tat evening. They said tat they have difficulties in understanding Bahasa and how lovely it would be if there is subtitles for all the tv programs. Haha, they are funny!
One was on duty at backyard.
We had roasted chicken, hotdogs, corns, pork, and many snacks. A beautiful bbq session we had.
He played the guitar and the others sang along with him. I love this kind of ambience..
We were placed in a cozy room with low temperature. I love hiding in the quilt.
At last, this one day trip brought us tons of laughters and happiness at the end of the day. A sturdy tripod was in correct position for this last snap of us.
Good luck, my dear friend! We will miss you..
